Equine Assistance for Veterans in Palmwoods
For Those Who Serve
At Equine Alliance in Palmwoods, offer calming, restorative experiences for those who’ve served in high-pressure roles — from military personnel and emergency responders to nurses, police, and frontline workers now in retirement. Designed as equine assistance for veterans and fellow service professionals, the program creates a safe space to reconnect, decompress, and explore emotional wellbeing through gentle, ground-based horse interactions.
Hosted on our peaceful 22-acre family property, each session is led by qualified counsellors and equine specialists using the EAGALA model — an evidence-based, non-riding approach to equine-assisted therapy. Participants are supported to move at their own pace in an environment built on calm, connection, and trust. The focus is on healing through presence, not pressure.
Whether you’re adjusting to life after service or simply seeking space to reset, our sessions offer a chance to reflect, regroup, and reconnect with yourself in the company of our horses.

Support for Veterans & First Responders
The program at Equine Alliance offers a simple, respectful approach to wellbeing through connection with horses. These sensitive animals respond to human emotion without judgement, making them ideal partners in self-discovery and emotional healing.
Our sessions create space for participants to slow down, reconnect with their own inner strengths, and explore how they show up in relationships and life. There’s no talking therapy or pressure to share. Instead, horses provide real-time feedback that can spark clarity, confidence, and personal insight.
Whether you’re still serving or retired, the experience is designed to help reset your nervous system, build resilience, and gently process stress. Many participants report reduced anxiety, improved emotional regulation, and a sense of calm that extends well beyond their time in the paddock.
This isn’t about fixing, diagnosing, or pushing through. It’s about breathing, noticing, and being supported by a herd — both human and horse — that respects your pace and process. The result is often a feeling of groundedness, recognition, and greater readiness to meet life’s demands.
